Best Sit and Stand Strollers 2021 – Pros & Cons Review

Last updated on July 21, 2021 by Dhanya G

best sit and stand stroller

Sit and stand strollers are an excellent way to keep control of your children. Room for everyone from babies to older children, they’re vital options for trips to the park, the grocery store, and the carnival. If you’re the parent of more than one kiddo, it’s not a matter of if you should buy a sit and stand stroller. It’s a matter of which one.

Why Buy a Sit and Stand Stroller – Is a Sit and Stand Stroller Worth It?

There are many reasons why a sit and stand stroller should be included in your parenting arsenal. It keeps your older child near you – chasing them around the marketplace might be good cardio, but it’s also an exercise in frustration. It’s beneficial to the child too – kids might be full of energy, but they don’t enjoy walking long distances. With a sit and stand stroller, they can take a break and enjoy the ride.

Sit and stand strollers also foster independence in your toddler by giving them the opportunity to get on and off at will. And they offer storage, a magic word to parents. Kids come with lots of accessories; this stroller will help carry the load.

So, with that, what are some of the best sit and stand strollers worthy of purchase? They include:

Best Sit and Stand Strollers 2021:

Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra Tandem Stroller

This stroller accommodates children up to 50 pounds (each). It allows your older child to sit or stand (as the name insinuates!) and provides ample storage.

Parents like that this stroller is easy to maneuver – it’s much easier to steer around corners than double strollers that sit side by side. Assembly is fast and the ride is smooth, something kids enjoy.

Parents don’t like that the stroller is large, even when folded. It doesn’t always fit in every car – if you drive a smaller vehicle, there might not be enough room in the back. It also doesn’t stand on its own when folded.

Baby Trend Double Sit N Stand Stroller

This stroller is similar to the product above but with a full-size rear seat. You can remove this rear seat easily to convert it to a more traditional sit and stand stroller.

The pros of this product include the trays and cup holders – there’s one for child and parent (you need somewhere to put your wine!). The ride is smooth and kids are easily able to get on and off (well, older kids….if your infant can do this, they’re a prodigy). It’s easy to push and turn. It’s also easy to open and fold and assemble.

The cons are the length – it’s long, which is consistent with sit and stand double strollers but a drawback for some, nonetheless. The storage basket is also hard to access when kids are inside.

Joovy Caboose Graphite Stand On Tandem Stroller

This stroller is advertised as the “most compact and maneuverable sit and stand stroller available.” It offers a two-year warranty (which is longer than usual). It has a universal car seat adapter too.

The benefits include the price – many parents view it as a steal of a deal. It is also smaller than most sit and stand strollers, making it easier to maneuver (you’ll feel like you’re steering a Prius rather than a bus). It also features a tray and cupholder for the child as well as a generous sunshade. The tires don’t go flat, either.

The drawbacks of this stroller are the lack of parent console and the handle bar (the shape of handle bar makes it difficult to attach any kind of organizer and makes the stroller a bit more difficult to push). The storage is a bit limited too.

JOOVY Caboose Too Graphite Stand-On Tandem Stroller

This product is similar to the one above but with a full-size rear seat. This rear seat is easily removable. It holds a maximum child weight of 90 pounds (in total) and has a reclining front seat.

Parents love that there is virtually no assembly – it’s nearly ready to go right out of the box. It’s not bulky and easy to lift. The straps are easy to adjust and the canopy covers both kids. The storage basket is also generous.

Parent don’t love that it lacks a built-in parent organizer or cup holder for adults. It can also be crampy for bigger toddlers sitting in back and the storage is hard to access when the back seat is occupied.

Chicco BravoFor2 Standing/Sitting Double Stroller

This product features a traditional stroller seat plus back seat and standing platform (for big kids to sit or stand). It includes a 5-point harness, adjustable canopy and detachable child tray.

Pros of this stroller include the parent console with zippered pouch (for safe phone storage) and two cup holders. The back seat folds away easily when unoccupied, making the storage basket easy to get to. Easy-grip handles and a backrest provide safety for the kid standing. And it’s easy to steer and push.

The cons include the drink holders – they don’t always stabilize the drinks. The handle isn’t height adjustable and the stroller is too heavy for some parents. The front seat doesn’t recline all the way either, which may interfere with nap time.

Graco Uno2Duo Stroller

The uniqueness of this stroller lies in its versatility – it starts as a single stroller and evolves into a double when more children come along. It offers 8 ways to ride – tell your toddler that it’s Optimus Prime.

The perks of this product include a solid design and durability – this stroller can indeed grow with your family. It features a cup holder and phone holder and provides ample storage. You can readily add other attachments if desired. And the wheels lock and unlock easily.

The negatives include its size – it’s large and heavy. It doesn’t fold very tightly, either. And it takes a little while to assemble.

Graco Uno2Duo Double Stroller

This product is similar to the one above but it comes with a full-size rear seat. The seats are easily removable allowing you to change configuration with ease. It extends in one easy step to accommodate two children and offers 11 different ways for your children to ride.

Parents enjoy that they can purchase one stroller and use it until their toddler evolves into full-on kid. The seats are comfortable, offering kids an enjoyable ride. It also comes with an extendable handle, cup holder, and phone holder.

Parents don’t adore the size – it’s bulky to transport and store. It’s difficult to take up and down stairs and it doesn’t handle bumps as well as it should.

Sit and stand strollers are a game changer for parents who have multiple children. The above make excellent options for anyone in the market for one. These strollers help you keep your children happy, content, and well within your view.
